The Meat Workers Union continues to campaign for job security across the meat industry, so that working people who do the hard yards in this key NZ export industry get a fair deal.
The Meat Industry employs more than 20,000 meat workers in NZ’s freezing works and they play an important role with their skills and commitment. A high number of them are members of the NZ Meat Workers Union and our job is to ensure that these workers get a a fair deal in return for the effort and commitment they make.
Our goals are :
- Job security with certainty from season to season.
- Fair collective agreements, where workers don't pay the price for increasing competition.
- Recognition of the important work Meat Workers do and the contribution they make to rural communities and their whanau.
That's what Jobs that Count is about.
